NTNU_EMI Teacher Development Program

  1. The EMI Teaching Resource Center at National Taiwan Normal University (hereafter “the Center”) has launched the “EMI Teacher Professional Development Program” in response to the Ministry of Education’s “Bilingual Learning Program for University Students.” This program aims to enhance the professional competencies of in-service full-time (including project-based) EMI teachers in universities and colleges, helping them refine EMI teaching techniques and collectively improve the quality of EMI instruction.

  2. This program invites in-service full-time teachers from universities and colleges nationwide who have taught or plan to teach EMI courses in the 2025 and 2026 academic years. The program consists of four modules:

    • EMI Teaching Environment: 12 hours, online asynchronous

    • EMI Teaching Methodology: 12 hours, online asynchronous

    • EMI Intercultural Communication: 6 hours, online asynchronous

    • Lesson Plan Collaboration Workshop: 2 hours, online synchronous

    • EMI Teaching Demonstration: 6 hours, in-person

    Total: 36 hours. The program balances theory and practice, allowing teachers to tailor a personalized learning schedule. Participants who complete the program requirements will receive a Certificate of Completion for the EMI Teacher Professional Development Program.

  3. Registration and Program Schedule:

    (1) Registration Period: From now until January 30, 2026 (Friday)

    (2) Course Duration:

    • Online courses: February 23, 2026 (Monday) – June 14, 2026 (Sunday)

    • Lesson Plan Collaboration Workshop: September 23, 2026 (Wednesday)

    • Teaching Demonstration & Showcase: November 13–14, 2026 (Friday–Saturday)

    (3) Certificate Issuance:

    • Participants who meet the completion criteria by November 14, 2026 (Saturday) will receive an official Certificate of Completion issued by the Center. Certificates will be sent electronically within one week after the showcase.

    • Participants who partially complete the program will receive a Certificate of Attendance indicating hours completed. Completed hours can be credited toward a future cohort.

    (4) Registration Information:

    • Registration Method: Please register individually via this form: https://forms.gle/g6G3sS7bMYMvud246 (first-come, first-served; late applications will not be accepted). For schools interested in group registration, please contact the Center.

    • Registration Confirmation: Successful registrants will receive an email notification by February 4, 2026 (Wednesday) with Moodle platform and AI speaking system (Sensay) account credentials. Access to the course is granted upon receiving the notification.
