According to Executive Yuan's "2030 National Blueprint of Bilingual Policy, " higher education will focus on nurturing students' English proficiency and promoting all-English teaching (EMI) to enhance international competitiveness and inter-school cooperation.
        Tunghai University, as a paradigm of whole-person education, hopes to combine digital technology and cross-domain integration. In the succession of the high-quality campus environment and the humanistic spirit since its foundation, we expect to expand our students' potential and reinforce international networking. The international internships for students and the international academic networking for teachers are the two bright spots in line with international strategies.
        This Program starts from this academic year. The College of Management will be the benchmark for the EMI policy for other colleges towards the long-term internationalization goal prioritized by the university. We encourage all students to enhance global communication skills to echo the spirit of the university motto: "Truth, Faith, and Deeds."
        The framework of this Program is as follows: enhancing English proficiency, EMI courses, overseas cooperation.

                     


The Program has the following objectives:

1. Increase the proportion of foreign teachers year by year.

2. Actively increase the number of returning overseas teachers with expertise in EMI courses.

3. The English Center will train new teachers with domestic doctorates to reach B2 English level in 4 skills. Teachers who have reached C1 level are exempted. Teachers with two consecutive years of participation in a two-hour weekly "EMI course" will get bonus points in the four-year teacher evaluation.

4. The "EMI Pre-Class" is designed to help students in the School of Management to get ready in 4 skills for EMI courses in their second year. The BEST Program will double the teacher's hourly rate and subsidize students to take the TOEIC Test in 4 skills, hoping they could reach B2 level.

5. Besides offering elective advanced English courses to strengthen oral and writing skills, we also provide students with online English listening and reading test, mock exams.

6.  Set up the Bilingual Teaching Promotion Committee and Bilingual Teaching Promotion Office.

Our 110 Acadamic Year Goals:

1. The "EMI Pre-Class" is designed to help students in the School of Management to get ready in 4 skills for EMI courses in their second year. The BEST Program will double the teacher's hourly rate and subsidize students to take the TOEIC Test in 4 skills, hoping they could reach B2 level.
2. Besides offering elective advanced English courses to strengthen oral and writing skills, we also provide students with online English listening and reading test, mock exams.
3. The Bilingual Teaching Promotion Committee and Bilingual Teaching Promotion Office had been set up. And the first meeting of the Bilingual Teaching Promotion Committee will be held on May 25, 2022.
4. In the 110 academic year, more then 30 students of the College of Management applied the scholarship of the BEST, because their English skills above B1 level (included Listening、Reading、Speaking and Writing). And we'll encourage the students study EMI courses, and improve their English skills as well.
